“When I make a mix, it’s all about the feel. Music puts me in a zone where I feel most happy. With this mix, I wanted to give that feeling to those that listen to it, a really relaxed, chilled sensation. Something you can press play to, and vibe out to, whenever and whatever the circumstance. My ideal location to listen to this mix would be on a rooftop somewhere, cocktail in hand, surrounded by good people as we vibe out and enjoy the sunshine.”
Over the last couple of years, Sarah Farina grew to become one of Berlin’s main
tastemakers in underground bass. Sarah is well reccognized throughout Germany and
noticed by artists and music heads on each and every continent. Her sets are driven forward through futuristic breakbeats and intense basslines. Not sticking to any specific genre, she defines the music she plays as rainbowbass.
Sarah Farina is one of the original founders of Through My Speakers, which became a record label in 2014, after being a collective and event production crew since 2010. Over the last years she supported some of the most respected of her bass music contemporaries, both locally and abroad. She contributed to
Rinse.fm’s Hyperdub show with Kode9 and Scratcha DVA in London 2013 and shared the DJ booth with artists like Loefah, Disclosure, Gaslampkiller, Lunice and many many more. Being connected with crews like Teklife (RIP DJ Rashad), Buraka Som Sistema, Exit Records and similar, her network is large and constantly growing, which resulted in many great shows being put together on Berlins concrete and beyond. Her two contributions to Boiler Room Berlin in 2013 and 2014 were well-recieved by BR’s usually very critical audience and paved her way even more for promising gigs in the future. After performing in more than 10 countries in 2014, Sarah is well prepared for taking it to the next level this year.
TRAVMAE (pronounced trauma) is a working group of musicians and artists on the subject of urban subculture, and was launched by Deep Jake and Prince Babo. Their first joint project “DAVID#1″ raises the modern gender discourse in its own way, and to counteract the lack of female Selectas. Primarily DAVID#1 intends to inspire musicians and music lovers (female and male of course), and provides a platform for just such artists. In return, Team TRAVMAE has brought international support for their first shot and it’s led by none other than Hannah Faith (London). Hannah is part of the global Soulection Movement and with well over 1 million plays on SoundCloud a rising star in the DJ universe. From the German ranks accompanied by Sarah Farina (Berlin), which today is one of the most requested DJs of the Berlin club scene. In contrast, locally-heros will deliver their sets, and try to meet the class of these two highly professional ladies. The visitors of this spectacle awaits urban club music at its best, something that has not yet been heard in Bremen. In addition to well-known music styles like House, Bass Music and Trap, also completely new influences will play a role, which are known as Future Beats, Future-Soul and Rainbowbass. Let us party out of the box and celebrate Genre independent music. And the main thing, with a lot of bass. No EDM. Team TRAVMAE
